Charlie Cunningham-Reid

Charlie was born in London, educated at Eton College and went on to study Business Studies and Finance at Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge.

He has worked for JTI since 2001 in Geneva, Sofia and Bucharest and after 15 years abroad has recently returned to the UK to take up the position of Head of Corporate Affairs & Communications UK.

With a strong marketing background gained with the Virgin Retail Group and Worldwide Brands Inc., Charlie began his career with JTI HQ in Geneva and as Marketing Director he grew Winston into the No 2 global tobacco brand, increasing volume by 300%. 

In 2007, following JTI’s acquisition of Gallaher he became Vice President for 5 of the company’s 8 Global Flagship Brands, Benson and Hedges, Silk Cut, Sobranie, Glamour and LD.

His move to JTI Bulgaria in 2011 as General Manager saw market share double and this led to him taking on the additional responsibility as General Manager for JTI Romania, Bulgaria and Moldova (Bucharest) leading an organisation of 1000 employees.

His new UK role involves monitoring and assessing political, regulatory and socio-economic developments, identifying key stakeholders and delivering efficient engagement strategies.

Charlie lives near Cambridge with his wife and 4 children.  His interests include classic cars, fine wine and all music.
